Village of Milford

The 52nd District Court - Division 1 oversees the Village of Milford along with 10 other communities in our surrounding area, serving approximately 175,000 people. The District Court has jurisdiction over the following matters that may affect Village residents:

1. All traffic violations with civil infractions and misdemeanors (speeding, operating while intoxicated, and reckless driving, etc.),
2. Civil cases involving damage or money claims as well as tenant/landlord disputes (cases are only heard on claims not exceeding $25,000 unless assigned by Circuit Court),
3. Criminal matters with a maximum penalty of less than one year in jail,
4. Pre-sentence investigations, probation supervision and violation hearings, and alcohol assessments.
