Oakland County Animal Control handles all cases of animal abuse, animals at large (dogs and livestock), patrol for stray animals and livestock, investigations into livestock kills, and the annual dog census within the Village of Milford.

Oakland County maintains an Animal Shelter that provides pet resources to owners, facilitates the adoption of pets, and provides a home to stray animals before their owners can be located. Oakland County Animal Control also processes pet licenses for residents. Pet licenses can be paid for in cash or check at the Township office or online through the Oakland County Animal Control website.
