Forestry

Central Park Tree Planting Event 2017The Village of Milford maintains an urban forest of over 3,000 trees located in Village right of way and parks. There are thousands more trees located throughout the Village on private property.

The Village of Milford has long been recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation as a "Tree City USA".

2016 Tree Inventory & Assessment
In 2016, the Village received grants funds from the State of Michigan Department of Natural Resources to conduct a tree inventory and assessment to assist the Village in future planning to ensure the proper care and maintenance of Village-owned trees. The results of this effort will allow the Village to better prioritize tree maintenance, removal, and plantings to ensure a healthy and diverse tree population in both our neighborhoods and parks.

Tree Board
The Village Tree Board is responsible for studying, investigating, counseling, developing, and periodically updating the plan for the care, preservation, pruning, planting, replanting, removal or disposition of street trees and park trees.
