Invasive Species

Since November 2017, the Village has been a member of the Oakland County Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (OC CISMA). This consortium of several County departments, the Road Commission for Oakland County, local governments, and non-profit agencies in Oakland County allows for consistent and coordinated efforts with respect to the sharing of information and identification & control of invasive species. Current efforts are focused on three invasive plants found in the County - Phragmities, Swallow-wort, and Japanese Knotweed.

The OC CISMA website includes a variety of information, including details pertaining to the treatment of invasive plant species.
