Refuse Collection

The Village provides curbside refuse collection, recycling, and composting through a contract with Waste Management. In addition, a household hazardous waste collection day is provided once each year in May. These services are paid through an ad-valorem tax levied against every parcel of property in the Village, as well as a special assessment on those properties receiving trash collection services. The portion of the cost paid by an ad-valorem tax is fully deductible on your federal income tax return.

Waste Management will not pick up construction waste - waste and materials resulting from construction, alterations, repairs, demolition, etc. as part of your regular pickup. However, you can call Waste Management and arrange for a special pick-up at your own cost for these types of materials.
