VILLAGE OF MILFORD REGULAR MEETING May 5, 2010
PARKS &RECREATION 7:30 P.M.
Chairman Brien Worrell called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
PRESENT Commissioners Jennifer Davis, Ray Theriault, John McDaniels, Myles Davis , John Parks (7:42), and Dean Porter (8:13)
ABSENT Vice- Chairperson Jared Kresnak
DETERMINATION OF QUORUM Quorum present.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
PR-10-01 Theriault moved, M. Davis seconded to accept the minutes of the November 4, 2009 meeting as presented. Motion CARRIED.
PR-10-02 Theriault moved, M. Davis seconded to accept the minutes of the special meeting of December 2, 2009 as presented. Motion CARRIED.
CALL TO THE PUBLIC
Judith Reiter, Powerhouse Restoration Committee, brought 2 signs that will be placed outside of the Pettibone Creek Hydroelectric Station. The signs were done by Motor Cities National Heritage Area, an affiliate of the National Park Service. Once they are placed at the site, Reiter recommends there be a ceremony, with the Village Council and public invited. Worrell suggested it could happen at one of the Concerts in Central Park. Reiter also brought with her a report dated 6/08 regarding the status and recommendations for the future of the Station. Worrell asked that this report be sent to all commission members.
Richard Harrison stated the powerhouse is open 12 days a year, and has been used on many occasions already for school trips and weddings. He also said a rail is still needed inside on the lower level.
NEW BUSINESS Summer Concert Series
Alan Smith, Milford Summer Concert Committee, was present to review the upcoming summer schedule. He stated the total budget for 9 concerts was $11,000. He said DDA was giving $3,000, looking for a village contribution.
PR-10-03 J. Davis moved, M. Davis seconded to give $3,000 from the Village of Milford Park’s & Recreation Summer Concert Series Donation account to the 2010 Summer Concert Series. Motion CARRIED.
Worrell suggested there should be a table at the concerts for information and donations with a tax deductible form created for Friends of the Milford Summer Concerts.
