VILLAGE OF MILFORD

REGULAR MEETING                                                                               JANUARY  7, 2009

PARKS & RECREATION                                                                                          7:30 P.M.

Commissioner Dean Porter called the meeting to order at 7:36 p.m.

PRESENT     Commissioners, John Parks, Raymond Theriault, Dean Porter, John McDaniels, Michael Allen

ABSENT       Chairperson Jennifer Davis, Vice Chairperson Brien Worrell, Commissioners Myles Davis & Jared Kresnak

ALSO PRESENT  3 Milford High School Government Students

APPROVAL OF MINUTES          Regular Meeting of November 5, 2008

PR-09-01       Theriault  moved, McDaniels seconded, to accept the minutes of the November 5, 2008 meeting as presented. Motion CARRIED.

CALL TO THE PUBLIC

Porter explained to the students how the Parks & Recreation Commission works and what it does. 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS             Ice Rink

Porter reported that the ice rink has been a huge success this year.  There is always a need for volunteers to help.  There is no more wood for the bonfires so if anyone has any it would be greatly appreciated.  The rink is open until about 11:00.

                                  Central ParkRiver Edge Planning/Myles Davis

M. Davis was not present to give his report.  The Committee decided discussion will continue at February meeting.

Parks reported he did find the 2005 plan that everyone had been looking for.  He will hold onto it until next month.

Budget

Porter suggested the budget be discussed next meeting.

NEW   BUSINESS              

No new business.

COMMISSIONERS REMARKS 

The commission welcomed Michael Allen to Parks & Recreation.

McDaniels said he is going to the joint Village Council Board & Commission meeting on Monday night 1/12/09.  Porter asked if anyone else was planning to join J. Davis at the meeting.  Allen said he planned on attending.

Meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
