REGULAR MEETING MAY 7, 2008 PARKS & RECREATION 7:30 P.M.
Chairperson Bill Serchak called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES Regular Meeting of March 5, 2008
PR-05-05 Theriault moved, Kresnak seconded, to accept the minutes of the March 5, 2008 meeting as presented. Motion CARRIED.
CALL TO THE PUBLIC
Serchak asked if there was anyone who wished to address the Commission on an item that was not on the agenda. There was no input from the Public.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS Fallen Hero’s Memorial
Serchak brought Worrell up to date on what the Fallen Hero’s Memorial request was. He said the Commissioners walked the parks and trails on 4/26/08 to determine how they would like the parks developed and the best placement for the Fallen Hero’s Memorial. He said he did not think Central Park was the best place for that memorial.
Worrell suggested they get a recommendation from Joe Salvia regarding placement at the Veteran’s Memorial.
Serchak said he would contact Mr. Salvia and Mr. Bushart to meet him at the park.
Theriault asked what Mr. Salvia and the Veterans thought about endorsing the flag Mr. Bushart had showed them.
Worrell suggested waiting until Congress adopted a Fallen Hero’s Flag.
2008 Summer Concert Series
Serchak reported that Janet Kinzinger had the bands lined up for the Summer Concert Series. He said she is working on fund raising.
NEW BUSINESS Hubbell Pond Park – Master Plan
Serchak provided the Commissioners with a map of Hubbell Pond Park. He drew the Milford Trail on the map and asked the Commissioners to mark up the maps with their ideas for developing the park and bring those maps back to the next meeting. He will contact Bill Hermann to get a map of the mountain bike trail.
Election – Vice-Chairperson
PR-05-06 Theriault moved, Kresnak seconded, to elect Brien Worrell to serve as Vice-Chairperson. Motion CARRIED
J. Davis will move up from Vice-Chairperson to Chairperson.
The next meeting, June 4, 2008 will be held in the pavilion at Central Park.
