January 2011
Community Sharing Outreach, located at 2029 N. Milford Road, Highland (Apollo Center) is asking the community for support in helping those in our community who are in need. CS has been overwhelmed serving families in Milford, Highland and Wixom (Commerce Meadows and Stratford Villa Manufactured Home Parks). CS relies on donations to supplement purchases from Gleaner's Food Bank and local stores. We also provide warm clothing, and temporary help with rent payments, utility shutoffs, etc.
During November, 2010 Community Sharing served 364 families/1,040 individuals; an increase of 14% over November, 2009. This is just one example of the growing number of people requiring help in our community. We expect increases of this nature to continue for some time.
We are in need of items such as shampoo, deodorant, feminine products, diapers, baby food, cereal, peanut butter, canned fruit, canned meat products, one-box meals, canned pasta, spaghetti sauce, ramen noodles, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, dish soap, laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, kleenex, pet food, gently used seasonal clothing and monetary donations are always welcome to keep the center running. Monetary donations allow us to select the food items in shortest supply, so we may replenish our pantry with foods that provide well-balanced meals.
To those many people in our community that have provided us with support in the past, please accept our sincere appreciation. |
