Hazardous Waste Collection

Household Hazardous Waste Collection

The Village and Township of Milford will hold their annual Houshold Hazarouds Waste Collection Day on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the Milford Civic Center, 1100 Atlantic Street, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All Milford Village and Milford Township residents are invited to participate. Only household hazardous waste will be accepted; no commercial trucks allowed.

Gather the household chemicals that you no longer use and dispose of them at the Milford Civic Center on May 17th. Village/Township personnel, under supervision of trained chemical technicians, will remove the hazardous waste from your vehicle. Containers should not exceed 5 gallons of liquid or 40 pounds of solid waste.

Do not mix hazardous wastes together; keep them in their original containers with the orignial labels intact.

Please do not bring latex or water-based paints. They are not considered hazardous. If you're not sure of the type of paint, please refer to the label on the paint can; if it cleans up with soap and water, it is not hazardous waste and can be disposed of with regular trash. You can dispose of latex and water-based paints by removing the paint can lid and allowing the paint to dry and placing it in the trash.
