REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
MILFORD CIVIC CENTER
Council observed a moment of silence prior to the beginning of the meeting in honor of Livonia Police Officer Larry Nehasil, a resident of the Village, who was killed Monday in the line of duty.
President Rusas called the meeting to order in the Milford Civic Center at 7:30 p.m. President Rusas led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Councilmember Aubry questioned why there was an increase to the manager and treasurer’s salary.
Ms. Jacques explained the increase was due to the recent change to the personnel rules which pays the employee for their sick time when accumulated over 400 hours and the recently implemented short-term disability policy.

Approve Purchase and Replacement of Secondary Clarifier Drive, WWTP
CM-01-010-11 Heer moved, Kovach seconded, to approve purchase and replacement of secondary clarifier drive for a total cost of $89,663.00. Motion CARRIED.
Mr. Shufflebarger explained that there were two vendors involved, WesTech Engineering, Inc. for the purchase of the replacement drive units for the secondary clarifiers and Process Pipe and Equipment, Inc. for removal and replacement of the drive units for the secondary clarifiers.
Approve Sale of Electrical Equipment
CM-01-011-11 Heer moved, Glagola seconded, to approve the sale of electrical equipment for the amount of $1,250.00 to Relectric Supply Company. Motion CARRIED.

MANAGER’S REPORT
Mr. Shufflebarger acknowledged the swearing in ceremony for new Police Sergeant, Matt Tisler, who has been an officer with the Village for 14 years. Mr. Shufflebarger said he will do an excellent job. He informed Council that the department now has three sergeants.
Mr. Shufflebarger said he spoke with Ron Fowkes, who was recently sworn in as an Oakland County Road Commissioner and seems to be enjoying it.
COUNCILMEMBERS REMARKS
Councilmember Kovach inquired about the staffing count at the Police Department.
Mr. Shufflebarger stated that the Police Department plans to establish a 17 member force. After budget review, there will be consideration of the 18th proposed employee.
Councilmember Frankford said that she delivered the get well card to Cynthia Dagenhardt from Council.
President Rusus offered personal congratulations to new Police Sergeant, Matthew Tisler, who was sworn in earlier today and also to Police Sergeant, Scott Tarasiewicz, who was sworn in on December 28th.
