President Nader called the meeting to order in the Milford Civic Center at 7:32 p.m. President Nader led the Pledge of Allegiance.

NEW BUSINESS
2009 Milford Criterium Proposal
CM-12-206-08 Heer moved, Kostin seconded, to support the 2009 Milford Criterium Proposal for Saturday, August 22, 2009 and direct Administration to work out the details for Council’s approval of the street closures. Motion CARRIED
DISCUSSION
Joe Dolan and Doug Klingsmith, of the Milford Athletic Club of Huron Valley offered their proposal (on file in Village office). The CRIT will be a multi-lap, closed circuit competitive road cycling race.
Shufflebarger asked Council to consider holding the race on a Sunday rather than a Saturday. He cited traffic control concerns. He said if the downtown merchants were in favor of a Saturday race, they could consider that for the following year.
Mr. Klingsmith said the MBA was in favor of a Saturday event.
Council discussed the proposal and whether Saturday or Sunday would be best. They discussed different dates and agreed that holding it on a Saturday would be a benefit to the businesses.
Appoint David Bluhm to ZBA Alternant Vacancy
CM-12-207-08 Rusas moved, Heer seconded, to appoint David Bluhm to fill the ZBA Alternate vacancy. Motion CARRIED
Accept Clerk’s Resignation
CM-12-209-08 Heer moved, Rusas seconded, to accept the Clerk’s resignation with a retirement date of March 6, 2009. Motion CARRIED
CALL TO THE PUBLIC
Nader asked if there was anyone who wished to address Council on an item that was not on the agenda.
Phyllis Motley, 273 Noble, thanked DPS for the snow removal job they did.
There was no further input from the Public.
MANAGER’S REPORT
Shufflebarger reported that the railings for Peters Road Bridge have been manufactured and should be installed within three weeks.
