Memo
Each year the Village places unpaid water/wastewater bills on the tax roll for collection. Village ordinance requires the Treasurer to send out letters to all customers who are six months or more delinquent as of March 1, notifying them of the date that this will be going before Council for approval. After Council approves placing these delinquent accounts on the tax roll, a second notice is sent, notifying customers they have 30 days to pay to avoid having the charges rolled over to their taxes. The amount placed on the tax roll in July, 2011, is for those accounts that are past due as of September, 2010. These are homes that are vacant, are going through bankruptcy proceedings, or are on a payment plan.
ACTION REQUESTED: Adopt the following resolution to place the unpaid accounts on the 2011 tax roll.
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that all real property parcels appearing on the delinquent water/wastewater list, held by the Clerk for the Village of Milford, dated April 27, 2011, in the amount of $2,277.09, are hereby specifically assessed for arrearages and charges attributable to said parcels on the Village Clerk’s listing; said assessments to be placed on the 2011 Village tax roll.
