| | Building Permits and Zoning Departments | | | Business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. The Building Department consists of a full-time inspector and two part-time inspectors.
The Building Official, Randy Sapelak, who reviews building permit plans and applications, is also the full-time building inspector. The part-time inspectors are Electrical Inspector Ray Kee and Plumbing/Heating Inspector Bernie Boyle. Randy Sapelak is also the Zoning Administrator and is assisted by Deputy Clerk Nancy Scott.
This department is the first contact people have when they need to go through site plan review, rezoning review, variance requests, lot splits, special use permits and zoning ordinance enforcement issues such as site plan compliance, signage, utility structures and decks. The Village also retains a planning consultant through Wade/Trim and Associates, the Village engineering firm. They assist with review and recommendations at Planning Commission meetings.
